Rain is Cool Part 2!

This was reported to mysa.com around 2:30pm

The Frio County Sheriff?s Department reported that all roads in and out of the county were closed as of noon.

The county is shut down, said Rodney Lucio, Frio?s chief deputy.

We've had cars swept off the road and people stuck in houses, Lucio said. We are working them right now. Lucio said water covering the road, along with fears that the Frio River would continue to rise, had forced the closure of Interstate 35 at both ends of the county.

It's just a parking lot, Lucio said. People are stuck there. They can't turn around the way they came because there is too much water in the median. They would get stuck. The high water today and Sunday left people stranded throughout South Texas and the Hill Country. San Antonio emergency workers made several high-water rescues this morning, but no injuries were reported.

Interstate 35 was closed for several hours near Dilley when floodwaters covered the road 3 to 4 feet deep. A number of homes in that area were also flooded, and the high school in Pearsall was opened as an emergency shelter.
